INCIDENTS REPORTED TO THE 6th DISTRICT 8/18/14 – 8/24/14

 

The below incidents in the Northern Liberties area were recently reported to the 6th District:  Mon 08/18/14 to Sun 08/24/14

Please be advised that the weekly crime summaries will be curtailed or suspended for 2 weeks due to annual vacation.  
INCIDENTS REPORTED:
Between 8 PM, 08/15/14 and 8 AM, Monday, 08/18/14, the bakery at 722 N. 2nd St. was entered without force, (the alarm system was deactivated) and cash receipts were taken.
Between Monday, 08/11/14 and Wednesday, 08/20/14 a Toyota Forklift was taken without permission from Festival Pier, 600 N. Columbus Blvd.
There were 2 thefts from parked vehicles reported this week: 857 N. Lawrence St, 101 Spring garden St.

26th DISTRICT CRIME REPORT 8/20/14 – 8/26/14

Below is a breakdown of crimes committed in the 26th District in the neighborhoods that make up Poplar to Girard and Front to 6th

There was One (1) residential burglaries during this period : 200 Cambridge (8/25)

There were Seven (7) theft from autos during this period: 200 Poplar (8/23), 900 New Market (8/23), 1000 Bodine (8/24), 1100 Lawrence (8/24), 1100 Germantown (8/24), 900 Orianna (8/25), 900 American (8/26)

INCIDENTS REPORTED TO THE 6TH DISTRICT 8/11/14 – 8/17/14

The below incidents in the Northern Liberties area were recently reported to the 6th District: Mon 8/11/14 to Sun 08/17/14.

INCIDENTS REPORTED:

Between 3 PM, Friday, 08/08/14 and 9 AM, Tuesday, 08/12/14, a 1998 Honda, parked outside 865 N. Lawrence St. was taken without permission.

On Saturday, 08/16/14, between 2 AM and 3 AM, a 2011 Hyundai, parked in the 800 block N. Orianna St. with a spare key inside was taken without permission. It was recovered on Sunday, 08/17/14 in the 2100 block N. Howard St.

There was 1 theft from a parked vehicle reported this week: 809 N. 2nd St

There was 1 theft of a bicycle reported this week: 1308 Poplar St

26TH DISTRICT CRIME REPORT 8/13/14 – 8/19/14

Below is a breakdown of crimes committed in the 26th District in the neighborhoods that make up Front to 6th and Poplar to Girard

There was Two (2) theft from autos during this period: 300 Cambridge (8/15), 500 W Girard (8/15)

There was One (1) stolen vehicles during this time : 1000 Germantown (8/16)

There was Nine (9) thefts during this period : 900 2nd (8/14) 10 PM

INCIDENTS REPORTED TO THE 6TH DISTRICT 8/4/14 – 8/10/14

INCIDENTS REPORTED:

On Wednesday, 08/06/14, 8 PM, complainant saw a male outside 600 Fairmount Ave. riding his bicycle that he reported stolen earlier from 15 S. 8th St. When confronted, the rider pulled out a knife and threatened the complainant who backed off and called 911. The offender fled the area before police arrived and was described as a black male, 19-25 years, 5’9″, facial piercings, wearing grey basketball shorts and white tank top.

On Thursday, 08/07/14 ,between 2:15 AM and 7:30 AM several vehicles parked in the 300 block Brown St. were vandalized, nothing was taken. Central Detective Division is investigating.

ARRESTS REPORTED:

On Monday, 08/04/14, 4 AM, complainant was a victim of a domestic assault in the 700 block N. 5th St. On Thursday, 08/07/14, 6th District officers armed with an arrest warrant took the 39 year old offender with a local address into custody, charged with Assault.

On Friday, 08/08/14, 6th District plain clothes officers assigned to a concert detail investigated a male outside Festival Pier, 501 N. Columbus Blvd. and found him to be in possession of heroine. The 41 year old offender with N.E. Phila. address was charged with Possession of Narcotics.

On Friday, 08/08/14, 6th District officers assigned to a concert detail at Festival Pier issued a citation for Disorderly Conduct outside 501 N. Columbus Blvd. at 6:25 PM.

26TH DISTRICT CRIME REPORT 8/6/14 – 8/12/14

Below is a breakdown of crimes committed in the 26th District in the neighborhoods that make up Poplar to Girard and Front to 6th

There was One (1) robberies other weapon during this time :

180 W Girard (8/6)- Offender was taking items from store when confronted by employee offender pulled a needle. The employee got out of the way and the offender left.

There was One (1) residential burglaries during this period :1000 Front (8/11)

INCIDENTS REPORTED TO THE 6TH DISTRICT 7/28/14 – 8/3/14

The below incidents in the Northern Liberties area were recently reported to the 6th District: Mon 7/28/14 to Sun 08/03/14.

INCIDENTS REPORTED:
There were 2 thefts from parked vehicles reported this week: 844 N. 6th St, 600 N. Delaware Ave
ARRESTS REPORTED:
On Wednesday, 07/30/14, 11:50 PM, 6th District plain clothes Officers Kovach and Wimsey, assigned to Northern Liberties, observed a male cut a plastic window of a Jeep parked in the 400 block Green St. and remove a jacket. Upon seeing the officers the male attempted to run, but was apprehended after a short foot pursuit.   The 51 year old offenderwith a homeless shelter address was charged with Theft From Motor Vehicle.
On Saturday, 08/02/14, 6th District officers issued a citation for Obstruction of Highwayoutside 01 Spring Garden St. at 7:20 PM

26TH DISTRICT CRIME REPORT 7/23/14 – 7/29/14

Below is a breakdown of crimes committed in the 26th District in the neighborhoods that make up Front to 6th and Poplar to Girard

There was One (1) Aggravated Assault other weapon during this period: 100 6th (7/28)

There was One (1) residential burglaries during this period : 900 6th (7/28)

There were Three (3) Theft from Autos during this period: 1000 3rd (7/24), 900 Bodine (7/2), 900 Front (7/26)

There were Six (6) Thefts during this time :

300 W Girard (7/24)- 2 PM Compl states unk person took her phone while she was loading her car

900 2nd (7/24)- 12 PM Compl left a tool bag unattended for 30 minutes and returned to it to find it gone

1000 2nd (7/26)- 6 PM Compl states that while dining left her purse on the back of her chair and discovered items missing

900 5th (7/28)- 6PM Compl had a lumber delivery and returned home it was gone

1000 2nd (7/28)- 2 PM Compl states that while dining had her purse on back of her chair and discovered items missing

1000 3rd (7/29)- 4 PM Attempt unk male was found in back yard looking about when yelled at fled

There were Ten (10) Stolen Vehicle during this period : 1800 Lehigh (7/23), 2600 Dauphin (7/23), 1800 Cedar (7/24), 1400 Marshall (7/25), 100 Norris (7/25), 2600 Martha (7/26), 2500 Cedar (7/26), 1200 Orkney (7/26), 1200 6th (7/27), 1200 Howard (7/29)

INCIDENTS REPORTED TO THE 6TH DISTRICT 7/14/14 – 7/20/14

 

The below incidents in the Northern Liberties area were recently reported to the 6th District: Mon 7/14/14 to Sun 07/20/14.

INCIDENTS REPORTED:

On Sunday, 07/27/14, between 4:45 PM and 11:15 PM a 1994 Honda, parked outside 500 N. 5th St. was taken without permission.
There were 3 thefts from parked vehicles reported this week: 155 Fairmount Ave, 600 N. Hancock St, 800 N. Hancock St.
There was 1 theft of a bicycle reported this week: 416 Green St.
ARRESTS REPORTED:
On Thursday, 07/24/14, 6th District plain clothes Officers Kovach and Wimsey set up surveillance in the area of 2nd & Spring Garden Sts. due to recent Theft From Auto Reports.  at 2:05 PM, the officers observed a male take a handbag from a parked vehicle in the 100 block Spring Garden St.  The 52 year old offender with a North Phila. address wascharged with Theft From Motor Vehicle.
On Friday, 07/25/14, 6th District officers issued a citation for Open Container of Alcoholoutside 600 N. Beach St. at 11:25 PM

Below is a breakdown of crimes committed in the 26th District in the neighborhoods that make up Front to 6th and Poplar to Girard

There was One (1) robberies other weapon during this time:

100 Girard (7/16)-10 AM While waiting for the trolley compl had purse snatched from her after a brief struggle

There were Two (2) residential burglaries during this period : 100 Girard (7/16), 900 Hancock (7/21)

There were Two (2) Theft from Autos during this period: 900 Randolph (7/16), 100 Wildey (7/21), 100 Laurel (7/21)

There were Three (3) Thefts during this time :
100 Laurel (7/17)- Compl states he is missing items from his house after leaving grandson alone Arrest Made

900 2nd (7/19)- While at the bar compl had purse taken from a bench seat
1000 Germantown (7/22)- Compl states that while dining with friends unk person took her credit cards from her purse

There were Three (3) Stolen Vehicle during this period : 900 New Market (7/16), 1000 Lawrence (7/16), 1100 American (7/18)
