RECENT INCIDENTS REPORTED TO THE 6TH DISTRICT – 05/30/11 to 06/05/11

The below incidents in the Northern Liberties area were recently reported to the 6th District:

BURGLARY

Between 4:15 PM, Monday, 05/30/11 and 8:15 AM, Tuesday, 05/31/11, discovered missing from inside the Fire Department office at 611 N. 2nd St. were numerous food stuffs such as coffee, sugar etc. and a power drill. There was no forced entry into the property.

THEFT FROM AUTO

Between 5 PM, Monday, 05/30/11 and 7:30 AM, Wednesday, 06/01/11, 4 tires were taken without permission from complainant’s 2011 Ford, parked in the 200 block Brown St.

UPDATE-ARREST

On Wednesday, 05/18/11, 9:50 PM, complainant went to 4th & Spring Garden to meet a person contacted on Craig’s List who was to sell him a laptop. The seller did not show up and as complainant left on his bicycle, a male armed with a sawed-off shotgun confronted him in the 600 block N. 4th St. and took his money and cell phone.

On Thursday, 06/02/11, 8:45 PM, in the 26th District, 425 Poplar St. a similar robbery occurred involving an offender with the same description.

On Friday, 06/03/11, personnel from the Patrol Bureau, Central Detective Division and the SWAT Unit arranged to meet a male through Craig’s List at 5th & Fairmount to buy a laptop. At 10:30 PM, a male fitting the description of the offender in the two robberies approached the undercover officers and was apprehended, a sawed off shot gun was recovered.

The 23 year old offender with a Camden N.J. address was charged with multiple counts of Robbery and related offenses.
