INCIDENTS REPORTED TO THE 6TH DISTRICT – 7/30 to 8/5/12

The below incidents in the Northern Liberties area were recently reported to the 6th District:

ASSAULT & ROBBERY:
On Monday, 07/30/12, 8 AM, complainant was riding his bicycle in the 400 block Poplar St .when 3 males stopped him and asked for a cigarette.  When told he didn’t have any, the complainant was struck on the side of the head with a bottle and the males took cash from his pocket and fled. The complainant went to the hospital where he made a report.  The offenders were described as b;lack males, #1-40-45 years, 5’10”, thin build, goatee, wearing a black T-shirt, jeans, #2-20 years, 5’8″, medium complexion, #3-20, 5’8″, medium complexion.

CAR THEFT:
On Wednesday 08/01/12, between 12 AM and 11 AM, a 1999 Honda, parked in the 400 block Fairmount Ave. was taken without permission.

ARRESTS REPORTED:

On Friday, 07/27/12, complainant’s a back pack was stolen from complainant’s vehicle parked in the 600 block Fairmount Ave.  On Sunday, 07/29/12, 4:40 PM, the complainant saw a male at 8th & Spring Garden Sts. wearing her back pack.  The complainant alerted 6th District Officers DeLuca and Romanczuk who apprehended the male and recovered the back pack. The 15 year old offender with a S.W. Phila. address was charged with Theft by Receiving Stolen Property.

On Monday, 07/30/12, 1:10 AM, 6th District Officer Erwin arrested the operator of a 2009 Toyota in the 600 block N. Delaware Ave. that was reported stolen from New Castle Delaware.  The 18 year old offender with a Townsend, De. address was charged with Theft by Receiving Stolen Property and related offenses.
